Facebook has many uses when it comes to promoting what you do. Apart from making connections and marketing your business, it is also an effective tool in promoting events.
The events feature can be maximised to ensure that you reach as many of your target audience as possible.
How to Create a Facebook Event
It’s easy to create and promote an event on Facebook. First log into your account and on the left hand column below your photo, you will find the Events item below Messages. Click on Events and then the Create an Event button in the top right hand corner.
Fill out the boxes provided.
Specify the date and time of your event, the type of event, the location and provide additional information on the More info? box.
Invite Guests to attend your Facebook Event
You can then choose the guests you wish to invite.
To do this, click on the Select Guests button and tick the box of the people you’re inviting.
Include a Message with your Facebook Event Invitation
You can also include a message by clicking on the Add a Personal Message link below the list.
Once done, click Save and Close.
Add a Photo to Your Facebook Event
Don’t forget to add a photo as well. If you’re a solopreneur, you can upload your professional photo or a logo of your business if you like. This will let your target audience easily identify the organiser of the event.
To upload a photo, click the Add Event Photo on the left hand side of the Create an Event page and choose from the files on your computer. Click the Close button when done.
If you need to change any details or your photo, you can always edit the event.
Just go to the event page, then click the Edit Event button on the top right.
Your event will then show on the wall of the people you have invited and on their Events page. They can then decide to reply to your invite by clicking on the Respond button and choosing from the Attending, Maybe Attending and Not Attending options. After ticking one option, you can include a note in the box provided before clicking the RSVP button. Otherwise, you can just leave the invite without replying.
It doesn’t matter if you are an individual, a group or a company as long as you have an event worth sharing, you can always create an event on Facebook to invite the people in your list.
If it’s an online event that you are conducting, you can invite people from all over the globe to listen to you and take part in your event. If you are charging for people to attend your event, make sure you spell that out in information about the event and provide clear instructions to visitor on where they need to go to purchase a ticket and provide a website link for them click on in order to be taken to your shopping cart.
Facebook events are a fabulous feature to leverage to get the word out about your upcoming events and to attract more people to your business.
