Facebook continues to make changes to its interface and although some users have objected to certain changes, one new feature that’s very useful particularly to the busy people is the one that lets users post messages including images and videos ahead of time. This is known as scheduling posts.
To those who don’t have extra time to post status updates on Facebook on a daily basis, this new feature will help you schedule your messages in advance. Even for an entire week and the succeeding months, you can schedule your posts whether they’re plain text or with photos and videos. This way, you don’t have to worry about logging into the platform and doing a shoutout manually every day.
Earlier, scheduling a post on Facebook was only possible through third party apps including those used for Twitter. Fortunately, the people behind this top social media site thought about developing such feature right within the platform.
How to Schedule a Post
It’s fairly easy to schedule your status updates on Facebook. Keep in mind, however, that you can do this only on a page you manage and not on your personal news feed or profile page.
On your business page, click the status box below your cover photo that says “What have you been up to?” and start typing your message. When you’re done, click the clock icon below your message.
Then click the +Add year link and choose the appropriate year. Next, click the month link, choose the correct month. Proceed with the day, hour and minutes you’d like to schedule your post to go out. Double check that the date and time are correct and if you’re okay with it, click the Schedule button below.
To check your scheduled post, click View Activity Log on the box that shows up after scheduling your update.
Editing Scheduled Posts
Editing scheduled posts is also possible on Facebook. Do remember, though, that you can only change the time you want to publish your post and not the text or link you have included.
If you’re posting on a business page, simply go to your Activity Log section by clicking the Edit Page button on the top part of the page. Click the down arrow to show the dropdown list and then choose Use Activity Log.
On the activity log page, look for the scheduled post you’d like to edit and on the right corner, click the down arrow and choose the appropriate action you want. Click the Change time option if you want to post the update at an earlier or later time. Click the Publish now option if you decide to post the update right away.
Proceed with changing the details and when you’re done, click Reschedule.
