Facebook has the ability to share a user’s life story in a detailed manner complete with images. This can be done via the Timeline section specifically through the Life Event functionality.

The Life Event option allows people to add memorable experiences that occurred in the different parts of their life. This section is public by default but there’s an option that allows a user to select the audience who can view his Life Event.

Facebook users can add as many life events they want on their personal profile page. They can choose from various categories and sub-categories. Or they can create their own life event if they want.

In the event you make a mistake or you simply want to remove a life event, there’s a way to do it on Facebook. You can also simply edit the details if you don’t want to remove it.

The steps are simple and there only several of them you need to follow.

How to Remove a Life Event

To remove a life event on your Facebook Timeline, first click on the particular event you want to delete.

When the box showing the event and date pops up, click on the date.

A new page will then show up. At the top right, you will see a star. Hover your cursor on the right of this star and a pencil image will then appear.

Next, click on the pencil to show the various options. The two options available are to edit or delete the event.

Since you want to remove your event, click the Delete the event option.

You will then be asked to confirm your chosen action.

Once done, your event will now be removed from your Timeline.

I do not have the pencil icon or the option – Delete Life Event, but thanks for posting. Another fail for Facebook.

Hi Pat,

If you don’t see the pencil icon and the options, you can delete a life event through your Facebook profile. On the top of your Facebook news feed page, click the Edit Profile link below your name. This will display your profile information page that’s ready to be edited. Look for the item you wish to edit and click the X to the far right of the item. That will remove the life event from your profile and from your Timeline.

Hope this helps.

Wendy
