Establishing an online presence should not just be limited to creating a blog or website. Being on social networking sites is a must.
Creating a social profile today is possible on several social networking sites. Being on more than one is ideal to ensure greater exposure to your target audience. The trend now is cross-promoting your profile on various sites.
The steps to cross promote your social profile whether it’s personal or business are easy. It’s a matter of including the links to your social profiles on the right places.
The most effective way of promoting your personal or business profile is by including links to your social media accounts on the About section. You can add it in your short or long description.
Whether on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, you can easily do this and most of them even allow more the inclusion of more than one link.
On Facebook, adding links to your About section will show up in your Timeline. You can also add them to your cover photo to attract attention. The cover photo should not be taken for granted because being large and readily seen, it offers a great opportunity to add a short description and links to your social profiles.
Adding Custom Tabs
Another way to cross-promote is by adding a custom tab to your Facebook page. There are third party apps that will let you do this such as Pagemodo, TabSite, Woobox and ShortStack.
Doing this step will encourage people visiting your Facebook page to easily follow you on other sites where they also hang out. Just make sure your tab is mobile-ready or can easily be seen by people using mobile phones. The tab should display as a unique link that directs them to the content on your custom tab.
Automate Social Sharing
Share posts and updates to several social networking sites at all once using special tools. You can even automate this task to save you time. Some tools you can use to automatically share posts on a number of site at the same time are Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, SocialOomph and AgoraPulse.
On LinkedIn, there’s also an option to Tweet your update at the same time while Instagram allows automatic sharing of your posts to Facebook if you adjust the settings.
