If you have just started your business and are finding ways to promote your products or services and gain more customers, one of the best steps to take right now is to join social networking sites. With social media, you can be sure to expose your business and establish connections.
Here are several important things you can do. Just keep in mind to be consistent in order to maintain your visibility and the interest among your visitors.
Be on Multiple Social Platforms
Being on two to three social media platforms for a start is an ideal thing to do. You can choose between Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked and Pinterest.
Your presence in multiple sites helps in search engine optimization (SEO) as your business gets easily searched. There’s also a bigger chance that your business will show up in the first page of the search results.
Make sure that you create complete profiles on your preferred sites. This will enable your visitors to get to know your business better and encourage them to follow you.
When making your social profile, include a description and summary that will answer the questions who, what, where and why. Also, provide your contact information to make it easy for people to reach you when they need to.
Use a Commenting System
Encourage people to give their feedback. This will let you know what they think of your business offerings and eventually, increase engagement.
Most social media platforms have built-in commenting systems but you can also install a third-party app such as Disqus and Livefyre.
Add Social Share Buttons
Business owners who have a blog should make sure to install social media sharing buttons on their site. This will encourage followers and visitors to share your content.
Social share buttons can be added to a blog post, the home page and landing page.
Connect With Your Followers
Make engagement another top priority. This means you need to interact with your followers to keep their interest to your business and what you’re offering to them. Check feedbacks regularly and find time to reply to every comment. You can also ask questions through your status updates to generate feedback.
Connecting with your followers will show your true personality. What matters is you maintain a positive relationship with your audience, answer their questions and keep them interested in what you’re offering.
