Instagram allows its users to share different kinds of images they are interested in. These images can range from people, objects and nature to architecture and landscapes. The best part about posting photos on Instagram is users can further enhance their images through the various filters available.

With filters, a photo can be edited to make it look dramatic or brighter and clearer. There are plenty on Instagram and they can easily be used without much difficulty.

How to Apply a Filter on a Photo

A filter can be applied after a user uploads or takes a photo. Once you’re sure of the photo you want to post, simply tap Next to show the filters.

To choose a filter, just swipe to the right until you reach the end. There are filters that make your image brighter while there are also those that apply a darker shade on the entire photo or just on the sides. You can also use a black and white filter if you’re in the mood to create a dramatic effect.

When you have chosen a filter, tap it. If you want to adjust filter strength, tap it again. To save the change in your photo, tap Done.

From there, tap Next to add your caption and location if you want. Then tap share to post your photo.

How to Manage Filters

It is also possible to manage your filters on Instagram. You can add or hide filters by uploading a photo and tapping Next to show the filters. Then swipe all the way to the right until you reach the end. You will see the Manage button with the wheel icon.

Tap the wheel icon and a list of filters will then be shown. Those with the check on the right are already what’s available on your Instagram app.

To add a filter, tap your preferred filter and a check will then appear next to it.

To hide a filter, tap the filter and it will then be unchecked.

You can also rearrange the filters. To do this, simply tap and hold the filter of your choice and move it to your desired position.
