YouTube remains to be one of the most widely used social networking sites for private individuals and even businesses. With millions of videos being watched on a daily basis, this platform is very effective in marketing products or services.
Google reports that how-to videos are the most popular on YouTube. Between 2014 and 2015, searches on “how to” have increased by 70 percent year on year.
Here are ways on how you can improve your search rank and promote your products or services to more people around the world.
Use the Right Keywords
When deciding on keywords to use, make sure that you do your research first and use available tools. Free tools such as the Keyword Tool and YouTube Trends can help you search for the right words and phrases that people use when looking for content similar to what you’re sharing on YouTube. You may also opt for the paid tools such as Video Cents and vidIQ which are capable of providing more data.
Once you have found the right keywords, you must use them every time you create content on the video-sharing platform. They should be in your video title, description, tags and transcript file. Also, don’t forget to include meta tags so YouTube recognizes what your videos are all about.
Be Consistent
Being consistent is important when using social media sites. It establishes your credibility and authority in your specific niche.
Keep in mind that you are likely to rank well in Google searches if you upload videos on YouTube regularly. Take note, however, that the videos you should upload are those related to your niche and always on the same topic.
