When search engines are able to find authority links in your blog, you can be sure to get a good ranking in the search results. Take note that to gain high quality links, you need to come up with valuable content first.

Make Your Content Sourceable

When creating content for your blog, your priority should be to write a useful blog post. One that your target audience will find valuable and those that they can apply in their daily lives. If you can, include facts, statistics, best practices and special reports relevant to your niche.

But apart from providing a useful article, your goal should also be to make your blog post a source of information. This way, you can attract influential people to your content. Journalists, for example, are always craving for newsworthy information and when you are able to provide it, you can earn backlinks from them.

Create Targeted Social Posts

It’s also important to know your target audience for your posts on social media. When posting status updates, for example, you can tag people you think will link back to your blog.

Another option if you want to create an impact is to promote your posts with Facebook and Twitter ads. This step requires only a minimal fee but you can be sure your social posts will reach more people than just posting them the usual manner.

On Twitter, you can target specific handles by searching for users or importing a list of Twitter handles. Twitter will then do the work in promoting your ads to the right people.

On Facebook, it is even possible to include the contact information of the people you want to target such as members of the media. You will just need to create a custom audience on the platform.

Use Google Alerts

It is also a good idea to use Google Alerts to monitor articles and blog posts related to your niche. This is a very useful tool that can also help you find journalists you can contact. Articles often have a resource box at the end containing information about the author including his or her email address and social media handles.
