How Business Owners Can Benefit from Snapchat

Not many business owners know that they can take advantage of Snapchat to promote their products and services. Snapchat can help businesses in a number of ways such as in engaging with their followers and clients, improve loyalty and brand visibility.

Being a mobile app, it is a good idea for business owners to use it as their marketing tool. They should also expand their target audience to include the millennials who are among the top users of Snapchat.

Engaging on Snapchat

There are several ways to engage with Snapchat users. Unlike the other popular social networking sites, though, your interaction remains private. The only exception is the stories feature which can be viewed by other people not connected with you.

Add users. To add other users in your list, you can do it in a variety of ways. Add them based on their phone number, usernames or their specific QR code.

Send snaps. Snaps are photos or videos which you can send to other users. When somebody takes a screenshot of a snap, the users is immediately notified.

Send messages. Instant messaging is done privately among Snapchat users. Unlike the usual text messages, though, replies are sent much faster and a user can see when someone is typing. Replies to a specific Snap are also sent as instant messages. And similar to the Snaps, when somebody takes a screenshot of an instant message, the sender of that message is also notified.

Advertising on Snapchat

Many major brands have used Snapchat for their marketing campaigns. You can too by choosing from the three main methods – Snap ads, sponsored geofilters and sponsored lenses.

Snap ads. These are short vertical videos that last for 10 seconds. But they can be used to promote your product or service with a call to acction.

Sponsored geofilters. This method allows users to send photos or videos from specific locations. It can also be applied nationwide to promote a certain theme or holiday.

Sponsored lenses.
Unlike the geofilters, the sponsored lenses are more interactive and are used after taking a photo or video. They have this special facial recognition technology that can turn people to other types of characters.

With these interesting features available, businesses should go ahead and explore them to promote their products and services. Currently, some 158 million people use the Snapchat app on a daily basis, opening it 18 times every day on the average.
