How to Improve Your Instagram Stories

Instagram offers its users various ways of posting their photos and videos. Apart from the usual posting on their profile, users can also take advantage of the Stories feature.

These Instagram stories are a great way to let your followers know what you’ve been up to in the last 24 hours. You can be more casual here and the interesting part is you can get more creative with what you’re sharing.

If you want to engage your followers, here are simple tricks you can do.

Use Colorful Fonts

When adding text to your Instagram stories, you can customize your font colors. Simply tap the Aa icon on the top right corner when uploading or taking a photo or video. Then choose from the numerous colors available.

To select a color, first tap and hold any of the preselected color options. This will then open a color bar where you can pick the color you prefer.

If you’re using stories for your business, it would be a good idea to use your brand’s color and be consistent moving forward.

Use Varied Font and Pen Sizes

If you want to change the size of your font or pen, use the slider on the left side of the screen. You can slide the circule up for bigger fonts or thicker pens and slide down to make them smaller or thinner.

The default size of the font and pen is in the mid-range and you have the freedom to make them smaller so your text fits on the screen.

Use a Solid Color as Background

Another way to create a great story is by using a background with solid color. This is a good way to highlight a text without any other image distracting the reader’s attention.

The first step to do is take a photo of anything you like then tap the pen icon at the top of the screen and choose a color for your background. Next, tap and hold anywhere on the screen and the color you chose will then fill the entire screen. To save this, tap Done or check the mark. You can then proceed with adding text, sticks and other doodles.

Create Videos Using Photos

Apart from uploading a video on Instagram, you can actually create a video using images and add music or animations. Videos of up to 15 seconds in duration are allowed on the platform and they can improve your engagement. To easily grab attention, add music or other audio components to your video.
